KORT Sign Design uses the latest production technologies including Adobe Creative Suite for design, HP large-format digital latex printing, a Royal Sovereign plotter, and a CNC router for custom dimensional graphics to design and build signs for your Minneapolis business.
For projects like wall murals, banners, and digital prints of all kinds, we’ve found the latex printer to be the best choice because of its versatility, vivid image quality, and the reduced impact on the printing environment. The water-based Inks emit extremely low levels of VOCs and require no degassing or special ventilation. The graphics we produce are odorless, making them safe for healthcare, retail, hospitality and even home use.
For high precision vinyl cutting, our state-of-the-art plotter is the perfect solution. It’s a quick and affordable way to customize graphics for walls, windows, vehicles, and even multi-media signage. We also have a laminator in house, which puts a protective film on graphic materials to make them more durable, plus protects against UV rays, scratches, and fading.
In addition, we have a 2017 CNC router that can carve or cut out shapes made of wood, composites, aluminum, plastics and foams. What used to take days or even weeks, we can now do in a matter of hours with this computer-controlled machinery. The router tool, similar to a drill bit, protrudes down from above the table and can be spun at speeds between 3,000 and 24,000 rpm. This allows us to produce custom dimensional letters and logos for a range of high profile indoor and outdoor signs.
But never fear – we still do a lot of production work with our hands too! We have a full workshop behind the studio for painting, cutting, mounting, tying or whatever is needed to finalize each piece of art. Our team has access to a professional paint booth, panel saws, table saws, power drills, hand tools of every kind and anything a handyman (or woman) could wish for.
