SCHWAN’S LOBBY/WALL SIGN CHALLENGE
Schwan’s is an established Minnesota food and beverage company that had recently undergone an extensive rebrand. Schwan’s contacted KORT to update the wall signs in its lobby and board room. The catch was that Schwan’s wanted the dimensional letters of the signs to be illuminated from behind—a special challenge considering the thin design of its new logo.
KORT’S LOBBY/WALL SIGN SOLUTION
Our first step was to take wall measurements of the lobby and board room walls to make sure the signs we installed would be proportional and centered. We were happy to confirm the large lobby sign could accommodate dimensional letters that were halo-lit with LEDs, creating a striking effect against the blue acrylic box the letters were mounted on.
But when we measured the board room wall, we realized we needed to rethink the board room sign. To maintain good proportions on the board room wall, we recommended not illuminating the logo, instead going with brushed aluminum and blue acrylic that would pop against the wood wall. It was the perfect complement to the brushed aluminum lettering of a quote from the founder we installed, too.
